Jordan Pascoe

Mechanical Engineer | USMC Veteran | Technology Enthusiast

Background

Hello, I'm Jordan Pascoe, I am a United States Marine Corps veteran and a graduate of Oklahoma State University, where I earned a Bachelor's of Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, I chose to dedicate a year to personal development and exploration, where I travelled, fished commercially, and expanded my knowledge in manufacturing processes and web development.

I am currently seeking an entry-level engineering opportunity where I can further develop my engineering skill set and make meaningful contributions to my organization. I do consider myself to be a student of life. I am frequently engaging in personal projects to attain new experiences and a greater understanding of the world around me. Throughout the years, I have completed numerous of personal projects such as automotive upgrades and maintenance or computer related projects.

More recently, I have developed a strong interest in manufacturing processes such as 3D printing and CNC machining. However, the CNC machine is a recent acquisition and I am still developing a work station for it. When it comes to manufacturing software, I am well acquainted with SolidWorks and Bambu Studios and I am currently gaining familiarity with FreeCAD and UGS Platform software. Over the last couple of years, I been building a personal workshop and homelab environment, this has sparked my interest to learn about various different topics including networking management, system monitoring and programming. In addition, I have completed a wide variety of projects involving electronics, home improvement, general fabrication and marine applications.

Occupationally, I have engaged in seasonal work as a commercial fisherman in different fishers like salmon purse-seining in Alaska and squid purse-seining in California. Overall the fishing experience was very illuminating and exciting. The work was physically demanding in a rigorous environment of which I developed the skill to maintain my composure during stressful situations. This line of work provided the necessary exposure to bridge the gap between the theory of engineering and practical application. While working on the fishing vessels, I was tasked to complete a plethora of projects entailing the refrigeration systems, diesel engines, hydraulic systems and onboard electronics. These experiences strengthened my understanding of engineering fundamentals and reinforced the importance of practical troubleshooting and reliability in demanding environments.

I receive much enjoyment from taking on various different projects and furthering my knowledge and understanding. I aim to become a well-rounded engineer various different topics and I am thrilled to understand not only how something works but why it works. I am have much zeal to apply my education and attain hand-ons experience in a professional engineering environment.
